Comments about Arctic Sport Steel Toe:

I am a 43 yr old construction worker that has had blood clots and take blood thinners, with that being said I operate heavy equipment in the mountains of WV with winter temps of -10 to the teens on average, from the time I put them on in the store I was ready to go, they are so comfortable, I left them on and off to work I went (night shift), they kept my feet very warm wearing normal socks and even after a 12 hr shift they still felt like I was wearing my tenna shoes. They held up to what ever terrain and conditions I put them through on a daily basis. I love them and recommend them to anyone, as the temperatures climbed and winter passed it didn't take long to figure out they are to warm to wear in temperatures above 30*, so I went to the new cool chore muck witch is also a great product wore them in the 80's & 90 degree feet stayed dry enough to still have cotton balls on my socks at the end of the days work

Comments about Arctic Sport Steel Toe:

Just read another review on this site by Musher Jon ... and I couldn't disagree more! In fact, I was SHOCKED to see a negative review on these boots! These are by far the best boots I've ever used in Extreme Cold weather. I work two-weeks-on and two-weeks-off in the Oil Fields in North Dakota. Winter temperatures (with wind chill) are REGULARLY -30 degrees! I honestly wear one pair of wool socks and my Mucks (Arctic Sport ST)... I've rarely had cold feet! I'm not alone in this either... I'll bet 2 in 5 workers in the Patch wear Mucks in the dead of winter... I see it with my own eyes.

In short, these boots are amazing for Extreme cold. I'm thinking that Musher Jon must have poor circulation in his feet or something, because my experience has been COMPLETELY different. Great job Mucks!

Comments about Arctic Sport Steel Toe:

I work as an outdoor educator. Last winter I was working at ski resort as a lift operator which involved doing some chores and snow removal at the beginning and end of the day and a lot of standing in the snow. These boots perform well when you are doing work that keeps your body temperature high but they're really not insulated enough to stand around or do light work with. I noticed consistently that after about 30 minutes of inactivity my feet would get cold. I didn't have a problem with overall heat loss because I serious about my layering. Even with two pairs of wool one of which was usually rag wool I would get cold feet. These boots are great on all other fronts but I think they need to be designed to retain heat better. I expected more from something that says it works in extreme conditions.

        Muck Artic Sport design change

Comments about Arctic Sport Steel Toe:

I purchased my 9th pair of Artic Sport Muck boots. As a farmer that is outside 10 to 12 hours a day in the Wisconsin winter, this boot was the answer to warm comfortable feet. I always had two pairs and switched them to boot dryers after 5 to 7 hours. To my surprise I find the interior design of the boot has changed. It no longer has the same sweat wicking ability and now there is a internal seam at the top of the insole, which allows cold to penetrate the boot. Thus your feet get cold with in the hour at subfreezing temps. I will take these new boots back. I am still wearing a pair I purchased in 2011, the old design, they are better than the new ones.

Comments about Arctic Sport Steel Toe:

I bought the muck company's artic sport boot this fall. As I have heard great things about this company. I went with the attic sport as I am a active outdoors man. Musher and deer hunter and trap as well. -40 comfort level is what they say. The boot is great at 40 above. Lower if moving around. This was the first week of deer season. 20 degrees on average and was hunting 10 hours of the day. The whole time my toes were killing me and were froze. I then. Came in out TWO pair of wool socks on and went back out. Good for a while then after 2nd hour of being in the stand they were unberible cold again. I am very disappointed on there rating being that half of the reason I bought them was that they would still be comfortable at 40 below. If you are going to be trapping they are good because your moving. Sitting there in cold temps for long period time this is not the boot for you. They are good quality and very water proof just not what they say 40 below.

            Finding your Muck Boots Size?

            tricks for measurement
            Tricks for Measurement:

            • Measure at the end of the day when your feet are at their largest.
            • Tools: Ruler, Pen and a piece of paper
            • Follow these steps:
              1. Place the paper on the ground and stand on it with your weight slightly forward to make sure your
              foot is flat.
              2. Draw a line behind your heel and another line in front of your longest toe. It is common to have one
foot longer than the other, so use the longer foot to measure.
              3. Measure the distance between lines in inches or centimeters.
              4. Find your measurement on the Muck Boot size chart to figure out the best. Round up if your size
              falls in between.
