Family memories look a lot different now, with a toddler running around. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Having a kid makes everything not only more fun but also brings the magic back to life. Those mundane things, somehow seem exciting when you can see the wonder through their eyes.
Since we live on a ranch, there is really no downtime with the livestock. So many memories are made working together as we care for the cows, sheep and pigs or do chores around the ranch. One of my favorite memories is truly a simple one, going to check the cows and sheep. Checking the livestock regularly is important and our little guy loves to do it. I am pretty sure he would stay and watch the cows all day if he could. He points in amazement at the cows and gasps! Something that we see every day is such a big deal for him, and it's so wonderful to watch. He rides so patiently and expectantly on the side-by-side in anticipation of seeing the animals.
The biggest thing is that we are all doing this as a family now. It might be hard work but it's super fun knowing that we are getting tasks accomplished together and spending time as a family. No matter what gets thrown at us, we can tackle it together!
My fav boots for ranching lately have been the Muckster Lite Clogs and Originals Ankle Boots. Love these both for the warmer months, easy to put on and good for so many tasks! My little guy has a pair of the Kids’ Chore Classic Boots. They are just a little too big but will be perfect for this winter! My husband loves his Chore Cool Mid Boots, he wears them for every task on the ranch.

It all started when we moved to the country, got a few chickens. Knowing where our food comes from, how it is raised and getting the honor to feed other people with nutrient dense meat that is good for the planet is super fun for us.
