WHY NATIONAL DISASTER SEARCH DOG FOUNDATION?
Since 1996, SDF has deployed to communities affected by natural disasters and terrorist attacks, providing boots (and paws) on the ground aid assisting in search and recovery efforts. Most recently they have aided local and national disaster recovery teams in western North Carolina and Florida as these communities recover and rebuild from hurricanes Helene and Milton.
To date, SDF has trained 228 certified search teams that have deployed to 277 disasters and missing person searches. The first of its kind, their National Training Center was designed specifically for canine disaster search teams and serves as a vital resource for all of America’s teams.
GIVING BACK
On Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2024, 10% of all sales on this special day will be donated directly to the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation.
This contribution will help SDF:
- Rescue shelter dogs: Giving them a second chance to serve and save lives.
- Train search and rescue teams: Providing essential training to both dogs and their handlers.
- Deploy to disaster zones: Ensuring rapid response to emergencies across the country.
- Provide lifetime care: Supporting the well-being of retired search dogs.
